Whats it worth? 1917 U.S.captains whistle

i have a ww1 u.s. captains whistle with chain looks like brass but has no markings the brass is rubbing off in some places and looks like silver under neth i cant find one that has the same chain or stye i do know its from 1917. help if you know a web site for researh

Put it up on ebay and see who'll bite. I probably would pay up to 10 bucks for it, just cause I'm a nut like that.
