Something like a frog or so, I don't know, open for suggestions. Something very uncomplicated.

  1. Rats are extremely cool. Very social and funny to watch. You would need to get 2 because one would get extremely lonely. They are easy to take care of. I have 17 females and I never get tired of there antics. And most like riding on shoulders or in pockets.

  2. If you want something uncomplicated, you may consider a Jumbo Rat. They are friendly, intelligent, and fun to watch. They are easier to take care of than cats or dogs, and you can interact with them.

Gerbil and hamsters are also decent small pets, but not as fun or smart as rats.

Any aquatic animal is going to take a little more, simply because you can't interact with them much, and they take more set-up.

Ferrets, while complicated, are a blast!! You'll have to make sure they are legal in your state and city (California doesn't allow Ferrets), if they are, I'd recommend them as well. They are lively, highly energetic, smart, curious and friendly. They do take more, and you must clean their cage daily, but they are well worth it.

    Good luck!

  3. a hedghog! they are kinda complicated tho....

  4. chinchillas!

they are amazingly fun and don't smell!

  5. I would suggest the common Red Squirrel.

They are very friendly creatures and perfect around young children. They can also be trained to do common everyday chores for example washing up, laundry and even buttering your morning bagel.

They can also be trained to do various tricks for your entertainment for example jumping through hoops of fire or eating large fruits.

They don'tt have many enemies so you will not have toworryy about epic duels in your house, unless of course a common Grey Squirrel comes into your common Red Squirrels territory.

They are very self sufficient animals so don't need a lot of looking after. Once you have a tree and maybe some bushes.

Good luck with your Red Squirrel!

I hope it brings you as much joy as my Red Squirrel, Fiona, has brought me.
