  1. Your stride is the distance between when one foot hits the ground and the time when the other one hits the ground.

    A long strider is a type of exercise where you are trying to extend the stride while maintaining the same time that it takes for the rotation.  There is no point in extending the stride if the turnover is slow.

    You must be very careful not to overstride because this can put you in a position where your foot lands too far in front of you and you are pulling your body forward using your quad versus your foot landing closing to underneath your body so that you are pushing your body forward using your glutes and hamstrings.
