  1. i would say cure for cancer. its just impossible to create enough vaccines in Africa. people with HIV have like 8 kids and the kids do the same they multiply so fast, very sad. and with the threats of nuclear activity a cure for cancer will be important for all countries

  2. they're both equally important to find cures for but at least one of them is preventable so i'd say cure for cancer... but my opinion may be bias since i am a cancer survivor

  3. AIDS, because a cure for that would be a cure for the immune system, which would be big for the fight against cancer.

  4. I'd lean more towards cancer.  HIV/AIDS is more often than not due to lifestyle choices.  Although cancer can be caused by smoking etc., many people (much more than those who acquire HIV from blood transfusions etc) develop cancer through no fault of their life style.  My sympathies therefore lie with that group of people and thats why I responded the way i did.

  5. Cancer is a result of bad luck.

HIV is a result of bad choices.

    The answer is obvious.

  6. HIV, and diseases like it, are largely preventable through conscious decisions... Cancer more often than not isn't.  So my vote goes to curing cancer.

  7. I would say HIV, because it spreads faster and if we find a cure for it then we can cut it off. Cancer; however, is not transmitted from one person to another, it's in the genes. I believe that if we are continuing c**p like HIV ourselves, and we transmit it ourselves and hurt others, that we should fix that. Since cancer is in genes and all, some people get it, some people don't, changing genes would be highly dangerous, as is the gamma radiation used now to get rid of it, and the other people who get it are just getting it as a result of stupidity, or just bad luck... and we all know neither of those are going to be cured.

  8. people just say cancer because alot of black people in Africa have it and there a bunch of racist' s

  9. canser!!! cause there r soooo many types and so many people r being effected.

  10. Cancer affects far, far more people than HIV.

  11. Cancer affects millions more people than HIV.

  12. Both are killers. Making a choice between them would depend on whether it was you or your loved one who had HIV, or Cancer which one would have to come first. Both are important.

  13. Cancer 150 %

Most types of cancer are not caused by your own acts(unless you're an avid smoker and develop lung cancer) and unlike HIV which if taken correct precautions you can for the most part protect yourself against as well as get a vaccine.

  14. Since HIV can cause cancer when it turns into AIDS and that's usually what kills people, I'm going with AIDS.

    But both would be better.

Amen to the person who finds the cures.

Good question by the way... very thought provoking.

  15. Cure for cancer.

  16. Ehh.

There will never be a cure for "cancer".

Cancer is just a word we use to describe an illness/disease that is unknown. Cancer will always be around... just in different forms.

  17. It's all important.

Moreover, today's cure for cancer could be tomorrows cure for HIV/AIDS.  The fact is just because we set out to study one disease, doesn't mean that what we study is what we will end up treating.

Viagra is the best example.  It started out as a way to treat certain types of heart disease.  Now it's a billion dollar drug used to treat millions for erectile dysfunction.

The fact is we need to be investing more in medical research and we need to be doing it yesterday.

  18. well cancer is a disease of all demographics, and generally not preventable (It just happens) while HIV is a disease that it spread and is avoidable, I would vote for cancer being more important.

  19. The way things are going right now, HIV should be cured first if we have a choice because it can be spread person to person very easily.

  20. the word "important" is too relative for one person to give the "correct" answer to.

  21. cancer

  22. yeah cure for hiv    thats laughable at this point  when 1 in 3 americans are dying of cancer

  23. i think if you were a person who suffered from either of these awful diseases, both are as important to fund research as each other. good question x

  24. Cancer...

  25. Cancer.

Here's the cure for HIV:  Keep your pants on and don't do drugs.

Cancer, although diet, exercise, and smoking all affect it, there are still lots of otherwise healthy people who get it, and we still dont' completeley understand.

  26. It'd be nice if we could cure them both. A good cure for HIV is condoms. Even tho I no some people are born with it by careless mothers. I think Cancer is more important tho.

  27. I think a cure for cancer as H.I.V can be prevented and Cancer can't really although they say this and that EVERYDAY can be cause for Cancer...One day they tell you this certain food is good for you and the next it can lead to cancer...You can't win with it!

So...I really think a cure for cancer is more important!

BUT...do you really think they will find a cure????

Look how MANY people will lose their jobs that are in the cancer field alone...I honestly don't think that they will ever find a cure!

I absolutely HOPE they do for the sake of A LOT of people now and A LOT of people in the future like our kids and grandkids!!!!

  28. A  cure for STUDPIDITY and defience of the TEN COMANDMENTS principles. SELF-RESPECT and a general respondsibility for everyone's civil rights! There are somethings that are a result of the wrong personal choices with once of prevention and pound of cure!

  29. Cancer affects way more. And there are many types.

Also, HIV IS preventable, in most cases. Like being abstinent around people with it. Also, you can't die from HIV, you die from AIDS.
