i recently switched high schools and will soon be starting my junior year but at my old school i took all honors classes and my new school changed my grades and i don't know if i should have them change it back

like i took honors geometry and got a B but because they didn't offer that they put on my transcript that i took regular geometry and got a low A

so which should i take btw with the changes i have a 3.5 GPA and without its about 3.0 +

  1. Most school systems give a bonus GPA point for Honors classes...5 points for an A in an Honors class rather than 4, for example.

It looks as if your school did the best they could for you under their system. The registrar at my school has issues like this all the time...trying to find classes to fit classes from other districts. We are authorized to give credits for only certain classes, so the registrar has their hands tied.

As far as what looks best to colleges...colleges are aware of what the reputation of all the school districts are. They know, for example, that your district doesn't offer honors classes, so they won't hold it against your grades on a personal level. They are looking for you to do the best you can under the conditions you are in.

In other words, if a B is something you can achieve in an Honors class, then you would probably be expected to get an A in a non-honors class...even if they are unaware of the difference.

That's probably very confusing, and sort of doesn't answer your question, but I hope it helps a bit.
