whats more popular in the UK craigslist, gumtree or is there some other free advertising media in the uk thats more popular

I doubt if many people at all even know what Cragslist is. However, Gumtree is heavily used, probably because it's owned by eBay and so gets plugged there regularly.

It's well worth using, even if you're promoting business services, as it also gets picked up by Google.

You should also look at any local free paper you get because ,although the circulation is much less, you usually get a good response.
