  1. Go to the DMV and get that endorsement.  Most states just require you to take a written and eye exam (and signs test) if you completed the MSF class.

When you are getting insurance quotes, present your MSF card AFTER you have received the quote as with some companies they'll give you a discount (at least here in North Carolina, different states have different rules and regulations for insurance).

    Good luck!

  2. In New Jersey you need to take an eye and written exam to get your permit BEFORE you take the class.  If you don't have to do that in CA then you're most likely going to have to do that before they throw an M on your drivers license.

When I was done I went directly to the DMV with my permit, my license, and my completion card and it 10 minutes I had a brand new license with M endorsement.

You are not a licensed rider until you have the endorsement.  The class is only a way to "skip" the practical (riding) portion of the DMV exam.
