GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE GAME

Rugby is played at a fast pace, with few stoppages and continuous possession changes. All players on the field, regardless of position, must be able to run, pass, kick and catch the ball. Likewise, All players must also be able to tackle and defend, making each position both offensive and defensive in nature. There is no blocking of the opponents like in football, and there are only five substitutions per game allowed for each team. A rugby match consists of two 40-minute halves. Finally, rugby is considered to be a gender equity sport as approximately 25% of all players in the United States are female

Somw wht like soccer. It is more ruff and allows things like biting, kicking, ect.

I have played football, soccer, baseball, and rugby. While I find football and baseball funner to watch. Rugby is definitely the toughest, most exhilarating sport to play. It has the physical aspect of football, mixed with the endurance of soccer and basketball.

There are two halves. The game does not stop unless the ball goes out of bounds, or if you halve to drag someone off the field. There is no blocking only lateraling. The game doesn't stop when people get tackled. You have to backpedal to your teams side of the ball and fight for position over it, and the downed player.  The team that gains the position gets the ball, and try to advance.

Not a sport for the faint of heart. Wimps need not apply!!!!!

There are 2 types of rugby, rugby league and rugby union

Rugby league is a faster game, quick and sharp where as union is slower and has a lot of standing on each others faces! union is a bit barbaric.

Also Rugby league in england is a nothern sport every team in the league except 2 are from the north of england

Rugby union is southern and scottish primarily

Anyway search the internet for Rugby league rules or type in St Helens, Leeds or Bradford rugby into youtube and have a watch :)
