I have 3 derogatory items on my credit report that were sent to a collection Agency. They are all medical and the amounts are in $74, $53, and $52.

I know they stay there for 7+ years so whats the best way to get hem off of their the quickest. Just send in a payment to the Collection Agency or ask that they take it off after i pay it or i wont pay them or what.

Whats the best solution to the problem?

Also, i have $20,000 + in student loans I am going to start paying right after i get out of school, how much will this boos my credit score by paying those every single month on time?

thanks :)

  1. Write a letter, in your own words, agreeing to such and such if they will return the copy of the letter signed as acceptance of the agreement.

If they are several years old you can try to offer about 60% of the balance and ask for the delete.

If accepted then send the funds.  DO not allow access to your checking account, tell them you will immediately send out money orders or cashiers checks.
