Whats so awesome about Blueray discs?

So what is this blueray disc that everyone speaks of? No really though, how are they different from regular DVD's? Is it just a HD kind of thing?

They can store more data (about 5 times as much compare to DVD). Yes, it also has to do with the high def thing. In you bought some movies, there are some that are in 2 DVDs. With blu ray, it combines both DVDs into one disc.
