  1. It has been assumed that an ouija board is another object that is used to summon demons.  I have heard many experiences that have occurred from ouija boards that have happened.  Enough to convince me not to try and play with an ouija board.  I still don't really know if ouija boards really do summon demons or not, but I wouldn't suggest trying it.

  2. Many think that it deals with the devil, and i just don't like them because you're communicating with dead people, it just creeps me out.

  3. Superstitious and impressionable people attribute the cardboard and planchette with supernatural powers.  Despite the fact that tests show Ouija boards employ the ideomotor effect, many are truly convinced they are communicating with the Other Side.  Once a superstitious person thinks he's communicated with a spirit, he is likely to attribute anything he sees or hears thereafter as having a supernatural source.

I have provided links for the curious:

  4. It is my personal opinion that a person messing with those boards is inviting unwanted spirits

  5. Aside from the fact that they are unreliable mainly religious propaganda.

  6. i have never tried it, so i don't know

  7. I haven't looked lately but I'm guessing the worst thing about them is the they say "Made in China" across them like most other products Americans buy.

There are many fundamental versions of religions (Islam and Christianity are united on this) that believe attempting to contact the dead is a sin. Please note it doesn't matter if it works just trying is a sin (and again religion becomes the thought police).

Thus, it's not the board but what they stand for or represent.

  8. when you use a ouija board, it conjours up spirits that touch your privates and people don't like it!

  9. My grandfather was a cold, rational man. He was also a total sceptic.

He was challenged then to try it and se what he thought. He accepted the challenge and went along to a session.

Something happened. He never said exactly what, except to say to NEVER try it. This was in about 1930. It impresses me because he was so rigidly correct on so much of what he said.

  10. Its considered some kind of devil thing.  Just more BS.

  11. Nothing. the movie the Exorcist is the reason people are afraid of them . I had one when Parker Brothers first bought the game and started mass producing them. Before the movie no one thought them evil or portals for demons. but after the movie preachers started cashing in on that theory and the result is the fear you see today.

That being said people have bad experiences because they believe they will or have been told they will so therefore their belief causes them to.

  12. It's just supposed to be a board that contacts spirits.  Nothing more, nothing less.  We used to use one as kids, but like anything else, I think it's an urban legend that they actually work.  If you believe, then you'll believe something happens, if you don't, it doesn't matter what happens, you won't believe it.

The reason why many people believe it works, even though it comes from a factory of game builders that make games like candyland and stuff, is that the arrangement of letters and numbers itself has significance.  So, if you believe, you can make one at home with a planchette and supposedly have the same results.

It is believed to be started by the Egyptians and they believed in contacting the dead, this is one of the ways.  If people these days think they are only contacting demons, then that is what they seek out, not what everyone experiences.  There's a difference in seeking out a spirit that is "evil  or mean" and a letting a spirit contact you.  I believe in spirits just because of my experiences with unexplained events in general, but I don't believe in demons being the reason for this board.  I am religious and a christian, but do believe in spirits, many people do, these spirits are believed to be in Purgatory.  A temporary state of souls being cleansed following death before the entry to heaven.

  13. because the idea behind them is to talk with the dead. If you are Christian, you are not supposed to ever try to talk to the dead. I dont know about any other religions. The few experiences I have had with them have not been good. I personally have not used one, but I have been present when they were being used. the experience was not a good one whether real or not. the theory is that you do not contact dead people, but rather demonic entities. Either or, its a choice one has to make for them selves. I personally would never allow one in my home or in my presence.

  14. Nothing, they can be a lot of fun.Kids or even adults scaring the pants off each other. What's more fun then that?Go to Toys R Us and get one.I have a lot of fun reading the answers to this question, every time it's asked. It really gets some folks worked up.

  15. it attracts spirits..these spirits can bring harm to you and your loved ones.

  16. OUIJA BOARDS, AS WELL AS OTHER DEMONIC THINGS, ARE AN ABOMINATION TO CHRIST AND TO MOST CHRISTIANS, AND THAT'S WHY WE DETEST OF THEM AND THE OTHER SUCH BEINGS AROUND US IF WE ARE REALLY GROUND IN OUR DAILY CHRISTIAN WALK WITH THE LORD!
