  1. Lets see....

way high in caffine More than 5 cups of coffee per can.

Loaded with sugar..and carbs...not good for you either.

It can mess with your heart due to the caffine and sugar load. If you drink it you notice the UP and then the dramatic DOWN you get...not healthy!

  2. An 8 ounce can of red bull has 80 mg of caffeine, slightly less than a cup of coffee which is usually around 100mg. The problem is if you drink too much. It also has high levels of B-vitamins, so if you have 3+ cans in one day, you can overdose on the vitamins and caffeine. Overdosing on Niacin is especially unpleasant.

If you only have one can every so often, it won't do any harm. I think that the addition of the B-vitamins and amino acids actually help reduce the feeling of jitters and crashing, but that's just my own experience.

  3. I use to drink red bull. Then a friend of mine "over dosed" on red bull. She had 7 in about 2 hours and her high (energy) was good until she it dropped to an extreme low and it killed her. I never drink red bull anymore.

  4. definately true its got so much caffeine and carbs and calories adn probly more bad stuff

its screws up your heart rate and its not just red bull its all energy drinks like monster and amp and that sorta stuff

  6. Odds are it will not kill you. But energy drinks contain a large amount of caffine and sugar. Depending on how your body reacts, energy drinks can cause adverse reactions to your body, such as  anxiety, panic, some stomach problems, and some cardiac arrhythmias.  Plus, many people struggle with their weight, all that additional sugar is not going to help.

  7. It isn't that bad. Red Bull uses a number of stimulants to give you energy. Sugar in the form of sucrose and glucose, caffeine, taurine, and a few B vitamins. If consumed in moderation it will no harm you unless you are sensitive to any ingredients. Red Bull recommends only having 1 to 2 a day but most people ignore that and like most other things over consume energy drinks too which really is what causes the problems.

People complain about the caffeine levels but Red Bull is actually has a reasonable amount. 80 mg per serving as opposed to coffee which starts at 85 mg. It will still dehydrate you though and compound the crash effect of the excess sugar in it. When dehydrated we become tired and lethargic. If you drink a glass of with or within 30 minutes of having the Red Bull the crash won't be bad at all.

The only other thing people complain about is the B vitamins. They think you can overdose on those but it is not true. They are water soluable so if they are not needed by your system they will be washed right out.

  8. well see for yourself

A study by the French Scientific Committee on Human Nutrition found that Red Bull contained excessive caffeine. The committee also raised concerns about the drink's other ingredients - taurine, an amino acid the company claims can 'kick-start' the metabolism - and glucuronolactone, a carbohydrate. The EC's Scientific Committee on Food said more studies were needed to assess the dangers of taurine and glucuronolactone.

High levels of caffeine can be dangerous for people with high blood pressure or anxiety disorders. Not much is known about taurine and glucuronolactone, but high levels of them could affect the body

Taurine (from taurus = ox, as it was discovered in ox bile) is an acidic chemical substance found in bile - Manufacturers claim that taurine enhances the effects of caffeine, but to date there have been no studies performed to confirm this.

Glucuronolactone is a naturally occurring chemical compound produced by the metabolization of glucose in the human liver. It has received some notoriety due to rumors that it was a Vietnam War-era drug manufactured by the American government. The rumors go on to say that it was banned due to several brain tumor deaths at the time. These rumors are not based on documented facts. Some of its positive benefits have been known to include acting as an antidepressant, stimulant, and helping in memory retention and concentration.
