Whats so good about high-school

I don't like it here in high school...in here in the US high schools there is too many gangs and they make fun of me because of my accent they think that I'm indian but I'm actually filipino...I'm from california and there is too much latinos, asian and black minority gangs...most of the time i wish i can study in russia but i cant because if i go there i will be in college right now which will be much harder so i cant be an exchange student there until college...please tell me whats good about high school and how its the best year of peoples lives...I'm in 10th grade and i dont like it...please tell me i don't do this to insult anyone

This is not the best years of your life. You will have many more wonderful years if you can just stick it out and finish school. Try to stay focused on your own objectives, keep you eyes down and mind your own business while dealing with the other kids and you'll get through it soon enough.  Good Luck!

hmm russia? why not come on over to canada, our highschools arent as bad, theres no gangs and such, and i think highschool is a good way of teaching you how Not to be an *** hole

If you really want to study abroad in high school, I know of a program that gives scholarships to high school kids if their parents themselves host an international exchange student. Maybe you could look into it. Plus, maybe just having somebody from somewhere else around would help you feel better and at least they could be your friends, seeing how they come from places so different to where you are. With the program I know you could study in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain, Ireland, France, or Germany. From personal experience, I can tell you that an academic year or semester abroad will give you the chance to live with a host family and experience a different culture while becoming truly fluent in another language. Plus, you'll meet people from all over the world. DO NOT HESITATE TO CONTACT ME FOR MORE INFO! I guarantee studying abroad is one experience you'll remember and cherish for the rest of your life! One thing is you can't let them get to you. All they are doing is ruining your experience in high school. I wasn't the best looking or the coolest. I didn't really fall into a group I was inbetween I would say. I did my own thing and made friends that way. Sometimes you gotta get out of your box and interact with others b/c they're more than likely just like you. The best thing I got out of High School was the friends.In class I would try to get to know the person next to me or in front or behind me. That's how I made friends. If they think you are someone you aren't make it clear to them who you are and be proud. They are making fun of you b/c they wish they were you in one way or another. Their self esteem is down thi is the reason the have to make fun of others to help themselves feel good. Throw it back in their face by not being ugly just by recognizing that you are happy with yourself, happy with who you are. You might just make a difference in their life. It's all about the friendships you make, I believe that was the best part!
