  1. the food and the scenery...the castles are amazing

  2. Depends where you go and what you like to do. Living in Munich, I can tell you that the city has an excellent night life. Also depending on what time of year you are planning on going (coming), we have the Oktoberfest in late September. That is something really special. Otherwise, we are close to the Alps. You can even go skiing in the summer on glaciers. In the summer you can go hiking. There are also loads of lakes to go swimming. If you are a male, you will be pleased to know that most of the women go topless at the lakes. There are also lots of impressive castles to visit. The food is good. The beer is better. Great weather in the summer. What else do you want to know?

  3. I went Berlin for the World Cup.  Gotta say the transport is great - you can see all the attractions in a very efficient manner.  People are pretty friendly and most will help you in English - or gestures...:)  Overall a really cool place.

  4. It's Germany!  Germany is awesome.  Tons of history and beautiful sights.

  5. everything she said, plus it is CLEAN, historic, the people are friendly, the castles are awesome, I loved it there!

  6. castles, food, beer, mountains, music, lakes, people... Germany is a GREAT place to visit!!

  7. Along with the stuff said above, Germany has a unique culture of it's own, however, it features many "American ideals" in its culture.

Because the US rebuilt Germany after WWII, Germany's culture has a definite link to American culture, more so than any other European country. They also have a diverse "meltingpot" of foreigners, such as Turks, Pols, and other people who's culture is fairly new to Americans.

Germany is a country that put a large emphasis on the environment, modern technology, and older institutions. Germany has many large cities that all are worth visiting for uniques reasons. The former East-German cities are begining to catch up to West Geman cities, and feature a thriving art scene.

The locals are friendly and love American, in general. Most people in cities can speak basic English, while people in the service and tourism industries are fluent. I spent some time at a traditional Biergarten. I was suprised by the friendliness of the locals, their fluency in English, and their knowledge of "all-things" American. When they learned where I was from (Atlanta), they quickly reconized it as "the Capital of the South" and it as the home of Coca-Cola.
