  1. Pink plaid pants are a little out there, but everybody has their own style.  As far as golf, it's the most challenging sport I've taken up, and I've played most.  You should try it.  If you aren't instantly addicted, do us all a favor, get in your car, go home and make me a sandwich.  Hope this helps!!!!!!!!

  2. Well My First Answer of The Golf Section Woot!

  3. Golf is the most challenging sport I've ever played.  I love the challenge.

PS - I've never seen a man wear pink plaid knickers on the course.

  4. because if you win you get a few million a year  and keep your teeth and mobility.  so it is  a smarts man game. lovely. and not all knickers are pink.

  5. Knickers are just as manly as Pink pants...but some guy were them anyway.

It's a challenge, don't you like a challenge? A lot of us do. The reward of executing correctly is a great feeling! Not to mention 4 or 5 hours of sunshine and fresh air.

  6. The days of bad outfits and s****. rich guys dominating the golf world are long over.  This game has become affordable to the average joe and is indeed getting more popular than ever.  let me give you some of the benefits as i know you are thinking of starting up.

    1.)great workout/stay in shape

    2.)very challenging(physically and mentally)

3.)open air and a great excuse to get outside and hang out with friends

4.)and to me one of the coolest things are there are so many different types of shots/situations you have to deal with: driving, iron shots, pitches, chips, putts, hit it high, hit is low, hit up hill hit down hill, ect.

if you suck at golf it will not be much fun but take a lesson with a local pro and you will start to improve fast and have fun!!

  7. We all have things we love to do.  What you consider exciting would probably bore me to death.  Go to a golf course and count how many people are wearing plaid or knickers!  Nobody!  People coming on this website to attack the interests of others is getting old.

  8. Thats just a question of likes and dislikes, there are men who feel the same way as you.  I feel that way about stuff ladies do as well, such as scrapbooking.......what the h**l?    I really don't think hitting the ball is as important as never losing your desire to be competative, your enjoyment for socialization with friends and the ability to appreciate tranquility,  thats really what its all about.  My GF has asked the same thing and i will tell her that its really a guy thing, that few ladies "get."  She is one that does not, and I like it that way.  Its a place where me and my friends can escape the stress of life (kids, spouse, bills, work) and be together for a few hours.  We practice and want to get better b/c we like beating our friends b/c that gives us the ability to talk smack to them, which is fun too.

I usually wear some shorts in the normal colors,  but where can I get those pink knickers?   I would love to see the looks i got.

    Hopefully gave you some insight.

  9. That is why GOLF stands for

    Gentlemen Only, Ladies Forbidden.

Because the men who created the game knew that women would never understand it enough to appreciate it.

  10. I have to agree with you, same as chasing a ball around a field, its not like you can eat it after you caught it, or watching someone bash someone else in the face, or any stupid sport, and these ppl get paid a fortune, the money and time would be better spent elsewhere

  11. While the name Golf might stand for what answerer one said, tell that to Michelle Wie (6'1" Korean teenage PGA golfer), Nancy Lopez or Babe Didrickson Zaharias who are/were some incredible female golfers out there. It is not that it is important, but Golf is a very old sport ( dating back to the days of Henry the VIII). It originated inScotland ( hence the plaid knickers) and St. Andrews is known world wide. Golf is a sport which allows the player to be in the outdoors, walking the greens with your bag of clubs alone is great exercise, and it is a sport which can be played by many older people because it is not too physically exerting. My husband loves the idea of thinking the ball is something he doesn't like, says the sport is great for taking out fustration without having to play with guns.
