Whats so special about the Bahamas?

If you like fishing and diving, the water is spectacular, great viz and abundant marine life. If you like a solitude some of the remote islands are beautifully quiet and peaceful. If you like a foreign land close to the US where the people speak English, another plus. If you like mountains the Bahamas are flat. With 700 or more islands there is usually something special though for everyone.

The weather is great, the beaches are spectacular with their clear blue waters and soft white sands.  Some islands have few people and cars and it gives you a sense of a real tropics.  At night on the less populated islands you can see the stars by the billions.

On the larger island , New Providence, it is congested with traffic, but it is a fun get away, there are a couple of casinos and lots of water activities to do, and a few really great places to eat.

As a whole Bahamian food is really good, and the seafood dishes are great, fresh fish, conch, chowders, conch salad, fritters, all very good.  Desserts they have mastered, any place I have eaten or people I have eaten with that make desserts are great.

If you ar thinking of traveling to the Bahamas check out all the islands and decide if you want to be around people or prefer a more solitude relaxation.

For me what makes the Bahama's special is the fact it's very close to the eastern seaboard of the USA. I live in New York. Easy flight time. Great for a quick getaway.

The other special part of the Bahamas is the beautiful water and beaches. I go to the Caribbean for that water at least once a year. We love to snorkel and it's a great place to enjoy the marine life.

I also enjoy the delicious seafood. Conch is one of my favorite food when I'm in the Bahamas. Lastly, they make the best Bahama Mama's I have every tasted (lol)
