  1. There's no reason you can't do this - just make several size circles for your polka dots, draw them on the walls and paint them. Leave some open and fill some in. You could get several shades of purple (one really dark, like your carpet) the others lighter. I think it will be cute.

  2. PAINT YOUR WALLS A LIGHT LIME GREEN WITH WHITE POLKA DOTS. THESE TWO COLORS WORK WELL TOGETHER. WHITE WALLS ARE DRAB. USE THE WHITE FOR YOUR BEDSPREAD AND CURTAINS TO MATCH THE WHITE DOTS!

  3. Ok well what color is your bedspread sorry but i really need more info. So email me and ill help you more cuz i dont check back on questions too much

  4. I would leave the walls white, because the problem with colored carpet is that a lot of paint colors will clash with it. Just like get purple accents for your room like pillows, a chair, or wall art or something.

  5. Don't worry this is not as hard as you think.  Go to a local craft store or even wal-mart might have it.  Buy some contact paper (it's paper with a sticky side - but not too sticky that it won't come off) find different sizes of circles and trace them onto the contact paper - or a compass (the tool that draws even circles) and then cut them out (make sure you don't take them off the wax paper yet) then decide how you want to put them on your walls.

Then you'll want to decide on your paint colors and purchase the paint.  Check out http://www.visionbedding.com/Bedding/Pol... for lots of different polka dot combinations.  Then paint your walls the background (main color) first.  I love the idea of dark purple and lime green or dark purple and light pink - either combination could work out really well depending on how girly you want it and what style you have!  It could take two coats depending what color the walls are now, and then let that dry really good, like maybe two whole days.  Then put the cut outs on the walls (the part with the circle whole in the middle) on your walls, make sure they stick really good and then you can begin painting the polka dots on the walls.

Again let that dry really good, and then you can begin decorating the rest of the room.  If you look at that website (www.visionbedding.com/Bedding.php under the polka dot category) you'll notice that they can make any color of polka dot bedding you want and they can even match your paint colors (if you e-mail them).  That would be a good way to tie in your polka dot room to your polka dot bedding.

Then all you really have left is to accessorize.  Since the carpet is dark, I would suggest keeping the curtains a light color or sheers.  This will brighten up the room.  Adding circular picture frames or wall art on the walls would look really cool with the polka dot theme too.

I hope that you're room turns out awesome and would love to see it when it's finished!!

  6. I agree that the purple carpet pretty much limits the freedom you can apply with the colors of the room. Look into changing the carpet into a much neutral color.

Here's a selection of Children's Rugs you can choose from:

Good luck and I hope this helps. :)
