  1. Mickey Avalon

    Joy Division

    Led Zeppelin

    NWA

    2 Live Crew

    Metallica

    Oingo Boingo

    New Order

    Thompson Twins

    GUNS N ROSES!!!!!!

  2. old skool songs that EVERYBODY likes and knows the words to would be best - bad touch by the bloodhound gang for instance, (or is that just me :\ ??) - it depends if you want everyone jumping or it to be chilled out.

someone played to macarena once at a party once and even the most shy people there started doing the dance - well funny when drunk - especially the jump and clap bit! no idea what the words are to it though, but then neither does anyone else i think?!!

so i'd start with that (to get the dance-floor filled) then go with some prodigy/ similar that people can do their own thing to... then (to keep people interested and not hogging the drinks bar) go with some really fast paced tracks in whatever you're generally into, whether that be rock/dance/house/r&b/pop... stuff from the 90's gets people saying 'OMG I LOVE THIS SONG!' or 'I remember this...' That way you can get people talking to each other if there becomes a lull in the evening/night. Clever, huh? Drunken sing-a-longs and pretending you're in the band playing can end a party perfectly:

Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart,

Robbie Williams - Angels (if you like pop, any of his songs'll do),

    Muse - Feeling Good,

    Daft Punk - Aerodynamic,

Candi Staton - You've Got The Love,

Moloko - The Time Is Now,

    A-ha - Take On Me,

Snap - Rhythm Is A Dancer,

Rage Against The Machine - Renegades Of Funk,

Salt 'n' Peppa - Push It

    Andrew WK - Party Hard

    House Of Pain - Jump

Good Charlotte - Lifestyles Of The Rich And Famous

Sonique - I Put A Spell On You

    Prodigy - No Good

    Prodigy - Out Of Space

    The Specials - Ghost Town

    Basement Jaxx - Good Luck

KC and The Sunshine Band - Get Down Tonight

    Metallica - Enter Sandman

Puretone - Totally Addicted To Bass

Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower

Linkin Park - In The End

    Interpol - Evil

    David Bowie - Let's Dance

The Transplants - Diamonds And Guns

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Love Rollercoaster

Depending on taste, more up-to-date songs will need to take up 45-90% of the playlist, - MGMT/ The Black Kids maybe?? I like Nightwish but most people hate them - for all I know you could be into 50 cent and stuff like that in which case this won't have helped you at all :(

    BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY:

END IT ALL WITH YOUR FRIEND'S FAVOURITE SONG OF ALL TIME!!!

(that way, you'll earn loads of kudos)

She might hate everything i've suggested.  In which case, a search through her iPod will help you greatly, otherwise you can expect to get loads of people moaning about the awful taste of music - hopefully not though!

  4. I like Rasputina, but I don't think it's something for a party...

Not if it's they typical party that I'm thinking of....

I mean, there are certain songs that, for sure, are not for a party at all, but there are other songs by them that could be perfect. So...?

I don't know. You listen and decide.

  5. Avenged Sevenfold - Afterlife

    Avengeed Sevenfold - Almost Easy

  6. Find out what bands or songs your friend likes best and go from there and narrow it down. Have fun.

  7. panic at the disco makes me think of party stuff (i dont go to a lot of partys so im no expert)

  8. Classic rock would make good party music. It's farmiliar, and makes good backround music.
