Whats some good soul bands? soul.jazz?

im also looking for a band that came out in channel 11(pbs) it was a guy he sang soul or jazz..he is kind of the male version of Corinne Bailey Rae..any help

it was dude who sang and played guitar and he has a drummer,etc

Could it be Ben Harper? I saw him a couple years back on "Austin City Limits" on PBS. Maybe they showed it again. If it wasn't him, I'd suggest listening to Ben anyways. He's got some good stuff.
