  1. I stumble on this almost everyday - but I've discovered CEREAL! They love to snack on it. So, they usually get yogurt, juice, a piece of fruit, sometimes peanut butter and crackers or celery, and usually a little snack baggie of cereal. My son loves those little strips of yogurt, with teddie grams and raisens..... my kids are not sandwich eaters, so it's very challenging. I do do the frozen yogurt tubes in the summer. and I take every oportunity to ask them if they would BUY lunch that day!!! good luck ♥

  2. sandwiches, fruit, raisens, frubes (yoghurt) frubes especially i use i buy bulk freeze them tak thm out in the morning put in the lunch box it kees them kool and by lunch the defrosted, maybe a cereal bar etc,

  3. sandwich, fruit, and juice pouch maybe a poptart or somthing like that

  4. sandwiches or filled pitta bread, rice or pasta pots,fruit,raisins,salads,yoghurts,juice... and crackers, rice cakes the list is endless.

  5. To get out of the sandwich rut I have started making my own "lunchables" with crackers and cut up pieces of ham/turkey and cheese. I also buy Gogurt and freeze it at night.  That way it is still cold by the time they eat it for lunch. The other thing I have started doing is using tortillas and making a wrap sandwich vs regular bread. Try using fun cookie cutters and using them to cut the crust away makes even those same old sandwiches a little more fun.

  6. My daughter insists on having a string cheese in her lunch each and every day.  It's a great lunch food; very portable, a good source of dairy and fun to eat.  Other popular items include celery and carrot sticks with a little container of peanut butter for dipping, bananas (the easiest fruit on Earth), a container of tuna fish and crackers, 100% juice boxes (Juicy Juice makes a good one).  There are so many more.  All of those things would be easy for your 4-year-old to eat on her own, too.

If you make them part of the process, think of all that they'll learn about healthy eating.  Plus, they'll be more likely to eat what they helped to prepare themselves.  Good luck!

  7. I have been packing three lunches a day for more years than I care to count. Some kids seem to really (really really) want to eat the same thing every day. My kids are quite adventurous with food and like me to come up with new things for their lunches. Some of our more popular ideas have been: home-made chicken nuggets with a dip; California rolls; marinated asparagus; stuffed mushroom caps; blueberries and strawberries; big salads with lots of cheese, sunflower seeds, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, ham, etc.; pasta salads; pizza buns; little containers with cereal; dried mangoes; banana chips; rolled sandwiches; carrot and celery sticks. I have found the key is having good containers to pack things and I always try to include a little treat, like berries or raisins or a mini chocolate bar.
