  4. Steak and Pepper Salad

    INGREDIENTS:

    olive oil

1 large red bell pepper, cut in 1-inch thick slices

1 large yellow bell pepper, cut in 1-inch thick slices

1 medium sweet onion, quartered and thinly sliced

12 ounces top loin or beef sirloin steak, about 1 inch thickness, fat trimmed

    1 teaspoon salt

1 can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

    3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

    2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

    1/2 teaspoon granulated sugar

2 cups torn romaine lettuce leaves

2 cups torn iceberg or Boston lettuce leaves

    PREPARATION:

Put about 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add peppers and cook, stirring, just until tender-crisp. Stir in onion until onion is browned and peppers are tender. Remove vegetables to a bowl and set aside. Sprinkle steak with the salt. In the same skillet, in another 1 tablespoon of olive oil, cook steak for about 5 minutes on each side, or until done as you like it. Remove to a cutting board and slice thinly.

Add kidney beans to the drippings and cook just until beans are warm; spoon over steak and peppers and remove skillet from heat. Combine the black pepper, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and sugar; add to the skillet. Add another 2 tablespoons of olive oil to the skillet mixture and blend well. Place lettuce in a large salad bowl and top with the bean, steak, and pepper mixture. Drizzle the warm dressing over the salad. Toss to serve.

    Serves 4.

    Taco Salad

    Ingredients:

    1 pound lean ground beef

1/2 envelope onion soup mix, about 1/4 cup

    3/4 cup water

a few dashes hot pepper sauce

1 medium head lettuce, shredded, about 4 cups

1 cup shredded sharp Jack or Cheddar cheese

    1 large tomato, chopped

    1/2 cup sliced black olives

1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper

    2 cups corn chips

    taco sauce

    Preparation:

Brown beef in a heavy skillet; drain off excess fat. Sprinkle onion soup mix over beef and stir in water. Simmer, uncovered, until liquid cooks away, about 8 to 12 minutes. Stir in hot pepper sauce.

In a large bowl, combine shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, tomato, olives, and green bell pepper; toss. For each serving, place lettuce mixture on salad plate or bowl, top with some of the meat mixture and garnish taco salad with corn chops. Serve with taco salad with taco sauce.

This taco salad serves 4 to 6.

For homemade corn taco chips, cut corn tortillas into strips and fry briefly in hot oil and use as the garnish for taco salad.

  5. We are having meatloaf, parmesean noodles and salad tonight.

  6. Depends on whether you want a salad with veggies only or a different kind of salad ( like the deli ones).

    I make this one:

Cut tomatoes in not too big or too small pieces, shape doesn't matter. I use too tomatoes as big as my fist. ! cucumber slided, some green salad, green onions, green bell peppers, and parsley. mix it all together. put some salt, oil and vinegar and there it goes. I know it sounds like every other salad, but it is different trust me. my bf loves it.

Another type we like is called moscow salad...

cut little squares pickles, ham, boiled eggs, boiled potatoes, boiled carrots, and peas. mixed it all with mayonase. Not too much though, just to cover everything. It is the best ever!

For a main meal I don't know what to tell you...

But sth fast you can make if u run out of time:

u need bread, provologne cheese, ham (or any deli meat), tomatoes.

put chese on top of bread, cut ham in pieces and put a few on the top of cheese, and if you want put some tomatoes slices, jut not too much. you want just a layer of cheese and a layer of ham+tomatoes. put in toaster overn untill cheese is melted and a little brown. It's ddelicious.

And i just read NO PIG, so u can subsitute ham with turkey meat, ot beef sausage or anything :)
