Whats that West Line of Land in Mexico?

If you were to look at a World Map and you saw Mexico, what that part of it Called that Kind of Hangs free on the West Side of it? Does it have any Special name?

It's called Baja California.It's divided into two states (North & South/Norte y Sur).
