Goony bird, it is very large and needs to do a lot of work to become airborne. I think it is in the South Seas

The goony bird, they are really funny when trying to take off but when in the air they are about the  most graceful thing you can imagine .There are thousands of them on the Atoll of Midway in the Central Pacific. They are a protected species. It is believed they can stay in the air for weeks. My ship had them following us for days and the never landed.  It is difficult to be on Midway and imagine that much of WWII depended on what happened there in the unbelievably blue water. But it did.
