Whats that sharp thing called that the bee has to stab people ?

what is the sharp thing CALLED that the bee has on this back that stabs people.?

and also .. once the bee stabs the person .. does the bee die?

It is called a stinger, as for the scientific name, I do not know. Yes. When a bee stabs a person ( sting if you are being grammatically correct) the bee can not retract it's stinger, because it is sunk in too deep. When it lifts off, the stinger comes off which kills it.
