  1. Singapore Airlines' entertainment system is one of the (if not the) best in the world, even in Economy class!

Each seat has a large seatback screen with movies, recorded tv shows, music, and games, which are all controlled through the remote.  The handset is pretty standard, although it does have a full Qwerty keyboard on the back.  Economy class uses Dolby headphones, but I'm not sure how good they are, since I bring my own.

All of the films are fully on-demand with personal controls, so you can pause, fast forward, and rewind whenever you want.  I did notice that the fast forward and rewind were a little sensitive, and tended to jump more than I wanted.  I believe there are about 2 dozen films to choose from, and they're categorized by genre (comedy, action, etc) in the on-screen catalog.  There's also a large assortment of recorded television programs.

The games are pretty standard in-flight video games.  Mostly puzzle games, but they have a few of the popular PopCap games like Bejewelled.

Aside from the screen size, the music system is what impressed me most about the KrisWorld system.  In addition to an assortment of in-flight "radio" stations, they have a catalog of music albums available, and you can go through and pick and choose to create your own unique playlist.

You can get all the film/television/game listings at the Singapore Air website:

FYI - The system on NWA's newest 777s is very similar, but it doesn't have the large screens, quite as many games, or the design-your-own music playlists.

  2. From personal experience, it's pretty good. Apart from the above poster's information from SQ, I would point out that the system includes:

    - Movies of various kinds (thriller, comedy, kids, etc)

    - TV programmes of various kinds (documentaries, comedies, cartoons, etc)

    - Radio

    - Skymap (to see where you are)

    - Games (some you play on your own, some against a computer, some against other players on the same plane)

And probably more I didn't notice.

One bad thing: it's fairly slow at reacting to button presses. But on the whole, it's far better than on all the other airlines I've been on. The A380 version of KrisWorld is newer than that of their 747s.

  3. Singapore Airlines' upgraded KrisWorld entertainment system offers 100 movies and 180 television programs OnDemand, as well as games and other entertainment options. Each suite has a 23.0" flat screen and comes equipped with Bose headphones. Each business class seat is outfitted with a 15.4" LCD monitor, and economy seats each have their own 10.6" personal TVs.
