If it's across state lines then it's 18. Otherwise the bus driver could be charged with taking a minor across state lines. I'm sure in state is 18 as well. Just to cut down on possible problems.

This is from the Greyhound website:"In accordance with Illinois state law, NO tickets will be sold to unaccompanied minor children under the age of 17 for interstate or intrastate travel from locations within the state of Illinois." I'm not sure if it's just for Illinois or if it's for all states.

A parent will have to buy the actual ticket-- but you'll be allowed to board and ride on your own.
