Whats the BEST digital camera plus video camera combination product??

I have a five month old daughter, and plus i love taking snapshots of our travels, and any given moment. i dont want to juggle between a video camera and a camera for seperate functions... yet i'd like the best quality that both can offer. i had a sony cybershot but the flash was absolutely blinding compared to the qualiyt of the pic and the video camera option was hopeless.

i'd love to take pics of my daughter i already lost an opportunity when she was taken out in her stroller for the first time... can someone who is tech-savvy help me out with good suggestions?? my budget is medium to high. approx 500-700 US$

well for the combination i would deffinetly reccomend making sure it is primarily a video camera, that can take photos.  because if you have primarily a digital camera that can take video, the videos will be pretty bad.  i reccomend the canon hv20 it was consumer camera of the year for 2007. it takes great video (HDV or minidv) depending on what you want to shoot in, and what type of dv tape you put in.  It also has a 5megapixel camera which is preetty good.  I have it and i love it.  The quality is great, the audio is great, the manuals are great etc.  It will run you around $600.  Do not pay more for it.  Some places try to over charge but you should be able to get it brand new for around 600-650

the new cannn one or i forgot the name its like lexis it has an toch screen and it takes videos and photos it touch screen so its easy to take care of its for 230 $ awsome price
