In overall size I would have to say either Steel Dragon 2000 at Nagashima Spa Land in Japan, or Millennium Force at Cedar Point. Both coasters are over 300 feet tall and well over a mile in length.

Yes, there are the two tallest coasters, Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster which are over 400 ft tall. But the height of the tower is all there is, and so I couldn't call them the "biggest" coasters.

The first two are the biggest in overall size and mass.

The amusement industry has tried to build the biggest and baddest roller coaster for decades. Usually what came to mind is that you had to build the tallest and/or fastest coaster to make it the biggest. Until recently, parks have finally got it through there mind that you don't have to build the fastest of tallest to make it the biggest. As long as you create a ride that gives the riders a thrilling experience from the start to the end, you could call it anything you want. For me, a big coaster would constitute a ride with the element of surprise in every dip and turn; However, other people might find height and speed to make it the "biggest". From my own personal opinion, the biggest coaster would have to be Expedition Everest at Walt Disney's Animal Kingdom. It is not the tallest or fastest, not even close but it incorporates thrill and something that most coasters don't normally have or do. So with that, that is what I think the biggest coaster is.
