She doesn't think her provider allows international calls... so we are thinking a calling card or maybe a piggyback number.

  1. Let her use Globe. Just dial 12800 (country code) (area code) (phone number). It will cost her only 15c/sec. Philippine money. That will be about 9peso per minute.

  2. i use the PLDT budget card in calling my boyfriends's US number ..its 3 pesos per minute...

  3. use Skype to call her... don't have her call YOU... rates here in the Philippines are horrendously expensive

with Skype you only pay a maintaining balance of about 10dollarsUS per month and about 0.01dollarsUS per minute.... you only have to have a Skype account... which you can create for free and a creditcard and of course an internet connection.

  4. It is cheaper if you will be the one to call her, Joe is right owtel is cheap. call this number for more info 1-866-444-0888. If you have a tri band phone you can ask your fiancee to send you a sim card that roam with a balance of PH100 either Globe or Smart or she can buy a OFW sim card, put that sim card to your tri band or quad band phone, then she can text you using that number of sim card she send you, it will cost her only 1peso. Globe and smart will allow you to call internationally, just need to put 001 and then you number.

I have a roaming sim card, if my mother in the Philippines want to talk to me, she just send a text and then I call using owtel.  I get a signal from AT&T and T-mobile you doesn't have to sign up anything.

  5. Use Globe prepaid sim.  Dial 128-001-(###) ###-#### between 10pm and 6am in Philippines,

You can call her also for cheap if you sign up for OWTEL in US.

  6. Another option, you could subscribe to Vonage VOIP and set up a virtual number in the philippines.  She could then use her mobile phone to call that local (virtual) phone number, and it would ring your home phone with no international charges to either.  If you're not home you could even have your calls routed to your cell phone. And No, I don't work for Vonage, I just read about that feature while I was choosing a VOIP provider, but I went with a different company.
