Whats the DS-2019 form ?

it says here that I need to get the DS-2019 form and I-20 and pay the sevis.

isnt the receipt of the sevis same as DS-2019 form ?

how much is the sevis and the DS-2019 form ?

how long will it take to reach me ?or its downloadable?

im seeking F-1 visa

DS-2019 is for J1 visa holders. The I-20 is the form from the school you are going to go to on an F1. Both of these forms would be originals given to you by the school or J1 exchange program.

The Sevis fee is $100 U.S.

It is form the I-901, it will print a receipt when you pay (online) and you need to take the receipt with you for your visa interview. You can do it online at:  https://www.fmjfee.com/i901fee/

Yeah so if you are looking to become an F1 you do not need the DS 2019.

Visit the USA embassy in your country of residence.

Typically you should fill form DS-156, DS-157 (if you are male between age 16 to 45) and DS-158 for F visa, which is the one you want.
