I do not think there is any problem with the team. It is just that they are not in best of their form now. Such things can happen to any team.

They rely too heavily on a few extremely good players to win them matches (Jayawardene, Sangakarra, Vaas, the now retired Jayasuriya, Muralitharan). Retired players such as De Silva, Atapattu, Ranatunga and Tillekeratne have never been adequately replaced, but the cracks were papered over for a time, because there were sill enough world class players in the team.

Now Sri Lanka are beginning to struggle. The batting relies too heavily on Jayawardene and Sangakarra, with the odd cameo from someone else. Vaas is nearing the end, as is Muralitharan.

They need to deal with this situation quickly.

I don't know what the answer is, or how much strength in depth there is in Sri Lankan domestic cricket. From the looks of it, not much.

They need to get back to basics, and look at how they developed as a Test and ODI side in the 1980's, when they had lots of 'A' tours, and the main side joined every ODI tournament going, so their players were exposed to competitive cricket as much as possible.

SL led by Captain Jayawardene after ICC World Cup final 2007 has been in a down fall however, SL Cricket is experimenting new SL youngsters for the cricket team & hopefully Captain Jayawardene will get his team ready for the Asia ODI Championship & VS India coming matches in future time. Other than that, SL Cricket are having many disappointments with new opening batsman, middle order, bowlers, & fielders however, SL Cricket will be back within 5 months time.

SL captain Mahela will work on his strenghts & weakness & improve on the areas SL Cricket is lacking. Other than that, i think it's the head coach of SL who is garbage & can't coach at all but, what can i do but answer what i think.

The sri lankan cricket team have excellent players.

I think that Trevor Bayliss Sri Lankan coach is not a very good coach. But there was talk about Tom Moody being sacked when he first started and he did really well with the team in the end.

Other than our batting is really letting this team down, poor shot selection and no team work is costing this team.

We have to improve in all areas.
