Black cars are the hardest to maintain, even the application of wax is troublesome to black paint.

What is the very best treatment for black automotive paint I can use on a new car to keep that showroom shine?

  1. In a word VaporWax.

The other suggestions may work too but nothing is as easy or works as fast or efficient as an acrylic paint conditioner.

There is no mess, No buffing, a single application is all it takes to put that showroom shine back on your car without compromising the surface with excessive rubbing and buffing.

It's a pure liquid non abrasive treatment that will save you time, money and your vehicles factory finish.

  2. I have had black cars and it is a continual struggle. Just keep the wax going and continually damp wipe.

  3. Use an acrylic paint conditioner, Nothing works better on black acrylic paint.

  4. race glaze , dirt and grim will apear on darker colors faster thjan light colors . you will be spending allot of $$ keeping a dark color car clean even after washing it it will look dirty . use race glaze  its not a wax the car dealers use this product for a good shine that lasts . also in my state wi. some car show people use it also . other than that use your best jugement there isnt a darker car you can keep clean for more than a couple of hours . good luck

  5. If you want to spend the extra time, you can do the following to get excellent results. It will take the better part of a day but you will never see anything like it.

First, wash with a good auto soap, don't use dish detergent as it will strip oils from your paint and dull the finish.

Second, get yourself a clay bar kit and clay bar anywhere that needs it. ( smooths out any imperfections and removes embedded particles)

Third, apply Meguiar's Show Car Glaze #7 ( in the tan colored bottle).

This stuff is hard to work with but gives amazing shine and gloss

4th, and possibly 5th...  You need to top it all off with a good wax. if you have the time apply Meguiar's NXT tech wax and then apply something like P21S or Meguiar's High tech Yellow wax on top of that. If you don't have the time, skip the tech wax and go straight to the caruba's ( P21S or High Tech Yellow) .

Your car will come out looking like a mirror.

Edit: Don't listen to the VaporWax people. It's spam.

  6. As you and a lot of us already know. Its not old fashion wax, You see the same tired answers for every paint problem. Nothing new.

I have tried the local favorites but they are all basicly the same product made by different companies in different packaging.

One brands wax based product works about as good as the other.

    They all require excessive rubbing.

The only thing that changes over time is the paint itself, Wax has been around long before acrylic paint was invented. so it stands to reason that wax was not designed to be applied to acrylic paint. A lot of people want to make it work but the fact is that it doesn't. Wax is part of the problem with black paint. The main reason is wax itself has its own color to it which is much lighter than black. The older and dryer it gets the lighter it gets.

The one thing that I have found that really works on black paint like its advertised to is Pittman's VaporWax.

No swirl marks, no mess, a glass like shine, a few minutes to apply, and its a non abrasive transparent liquid so theres no chalky or powdery mess like you get with wax and it lasts for months.

There is nothing that works as well on any acrylic paint as a acrylic paint conditioner. You could try waxing it but I think we all know old fashion wax on a black car does not work.

  7. Use an acrylic paint conditioner, Thats the best option for black acrylic paint.

    Easier and cleaner than wax.
