  1. It depends what your looking to grow. Different plants prefer different soil types.

Organic ? all soil is organic !

  2. Clay has a high water and nutrient holding capacity, but can be prone to flooding. Sand is much drier (water and nutrients drain much quicker) and more prone to erosion.  Loam is a medium soil between these two but more towards the sand end of the spectrum.  Silt is also a medium soil, but more towards the clay end of the spectrum.  Soil organic matter helps with holding water and nutrients, and stimulates the microbial community (which is good!).

  3. agriculture

    building

    fill ballast

    building ,fill ballast

agriculture ( peet bog fuel )

thick , heavy soil need to excavate before construction deep

    not stable in many areas

    not stable

    porosity is high

high moisture not stable for construction road building

that enough , porosity is a paragraph in itself for each , search soil mechanics enough there for you as well    . you are welcome.
