Whats the advantages of waxing a snowboard with a snowboard iron rather rgan using a clothing iron?

it's made for waxing a snowboard.. it's sometimes smaller so you can get everywhere and on all the clothing irons i've seen, they all have little holes in them and you don't really want wax gettin on there and stuff..

i hate to admit it but there really is no difference in which iron you use. You can actually just drop by your local thrift store and buy a clothing iron. The good thing about a clothing iron is that it usually had that point to it and you can use that to drip the wax on spots that you are aiming for. But snowboard irons are like square. but the bad thing about clothing irons is that they have those holes. Wax can get into it and uuu i really dont know what happens when it gets in there. But snowboard irons dont have those holes so it kinda is better. So it really doesnt matter.

Nothing.  Snowboard irons are sometimes shaped a little different.   After 20 years of snowboarding I still use a clothes iron.  Just don't use it on your clothes after.

yea...i went to the value center store and got an cheap iron for 99cents.  It really doesn't matter, as long as it gets hot.

a snowboard iron is easier to clean and it gets an even layer of wax on the board
