how old do u have to be to get into a rated R movie?

me and my friends wanna go see pineapple express

one of my friends is 17..so can she buy the tickets and get us all in??

No, Texas is not any different....the Motion Pictures Association of America's policy on movie ratings are all the same and applies all the states of the US. And yes, your friend can buy a ticket, but I dont know about your friends, since sometimes movies ask an ID. One time, I went to a movie theather in DC, I was 15 and got in a R rated movie without being asked for an ID, and my friend was 18 but he was asked for an ID. So it might depends on how old you look. You could give it a try, it wouldn't hurt.
