Whats the average house price in California ?

I'm looking to move after i'm married to California probably San Fransico or San Carlos.... i'll be selling my Apartment in London and looking for a spacious 3 bed house but wanted to know what to expect ?

"spacious" is relative.

But, I have been in London apartments, other then the fact that they have yards the homes are about the same size as SF.

San Carlos is pretty expensive.    You can expect from 700-to well over a million depending on the land it is on.   This is for a basic 3 bed 1 bath.   I do not think San Carlos has any newer construction, it is a nice older town.

SF starts at around 750 and can go as far up from there as you want.    The life style is very similar to London, but with wider streets and VERY steep hills.

Median home price in San Francisco (half cost more and half cost less) is about $600,000.  A nice, spacious 3 bed house will be very expensive, probably one of the most expensive places in the US.
