  1. theres really no amount of points it takes for a team to get in, if its a real tight race, your gonna need more points

    if you have the most points in your division (not conference), you would end up in the third seed or better even if you have less points than the team in the 9th seed


  2. I think he was referring to how many points a team needs to make the playoffs (8th seed or better for your conference).

    I'd expect about 92-94 points.

  3. For a player it varies. For a defenseman per series of about 5.5 games (In between 4-7 games) they could have 2 to 4 points. For a forward you can expect around 2-6 points.

    If you are talking team, then it's WINS. 16 wins will guarrantee you a Stanley Cup Championship.

    3.9375 was the average team wins during the Stanley Cup Playoffs last year.

    Oh, I see. It takes around 91-95 points to make it into the playoffs. The most a team had in one season and missed the playoffs was 95 points. That was 2006-2007 Colorado Avalanche who ended up in the 9th seed in the Western Conference.
