Are you thinking of renting or buying? To rent in dublin like any other city will depend on where you want to live. The further out of the city you go the cheaper most places will be. I'm not too familiar with the southside but on the northside the more expensive places would be malahide, portmarnock, howth to name a few. I live in a place called balbriggan which is about a 30 min train journey to the city centre and you can find 1 bedroom places from as little as €800 a month. Dont expect a great deal for this price, it will be basic. On average they are going for around €1000 a month.

If your looking to buy then they can vary so much. There's a lot of apartments on the market at the moment so look around you could get a good deal. A friend of mine had her place up for sale for €320,000 for a 2 bedroom in balbriggan. She ended up selling it for €260,000 it had been on the market for over a year she had to sell it to fund her move to spain.

Try looking at www.daft.ie they really are the biggest site for renting and it's very easy to do a search.

Another is www.myhome.ie this site is used more for buying.

Popular estate agents around dublin are, property team, property partners, douglas newman good, sherry fitzgerald and remax.

If your looking for somewhere in a certain location then go to www.eircom.com click on the phonebook tab at the top of the page and then if you click on the business section and put in estate agents and the area your looking for it will list all of the estate agents in that area and give you all there contact details.
