I have been reading some information on puppies and whats needed when you get one, and can't find anything on the average prices for the vaccinations that is needed for the puppy, I only hear from people about how expensive it is to get a puppy and everything, but No one ever tells me how much it costs. I know how much food, toys and pet insurance costs but I know nothing about the cost of going to the vets.

  1. A consultation is normally about £20-25 and then everything else is on top of that. For spaying its about £150 and castrating is about £80. Pet insurance should cover most things though

  2. ask around

  3. It all depends ,

We have the vet at petsmart benefield and they have plans and the average plan which includes shots and check ups are 200 and local vets could be cheaper depending on what you need done. Its depends on if you want to be prepared a head of time for accidents or take him once and keep going and not have a plan that covers stuff.

  4. That's what the insurance is for! You don't need to pay extra on top of the insurance. I assume you're in the UK? Could I urge you *NOT* to /buy/ a puppy; if you have you heart set on one, that's fine, but could you please go to the Dogs' Trust, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, RSPCA, Blue Cross or any one of the 100s of small(er) shelters around the country? Don't add to the number of pups being born in the UK every year. I was annoyed with my best mate when she told me she paid £150 for a pedigree Jack Russell pup; now, don't get me wrong Suki (short for 'Suzuki' - the fastest dog in the (north) West!) is the most lovely tempered dog - big or small - that I know, but my mate still *BOUGHT* her. Having said that, her other dog did come from the local shelter (she paid £50 for him as a 'non-breed' though I don't think the kennel knew what they were on about because if he's not a Norwich terrier, I'll eat my own excrement! I thought that the moment I set eyes on him (I'm rather an expert on Terriers, having had relatives and family friends with just about every single breed there is! My mother's great-aunt had a Norwich).

Sorry, I'm rambling but, please, go to your local shelter.

  5. go to a clinic 25.00 rabies every 3 years 26.00 dpv every year  if you go to a vet add 50.00 for a scheduled office visit

  6. $75.00 - $100.00

  7. Well idk since I don't have a puppy and every clinic charges differently. I just know that a check up costs around £30 and vaccinations costs vary. I would say maybe £30 - 60 each? And some pet insurance...people give you money for vaccinations/discount the vaccinations.

  8. My vet charges way more than what I see listed here. Best to call some different vets & ask. They won't mind.

  9. usually the first set of shots is about 40-60 dependin on ur vet...then the second set of shots is like 30, then to get them spayed or neutered its anywhere from 90-170 depending on if its a male or female and how much they weight. The rabies shot is about 20 to get the license, and the license is about 30 depending on where you live....some places are cheaper, and others are more....

  10. I have a cat, and her yearly vaccinations at the vet are around 65. But then again, your talking about a puppy, and i heard that puppies cost more to take care of than cats. For my puppy i had a few years ago, the first year worth of shots were about $200, and just regular yearly shots were around $50-70, depends if they gave out discounts that day.
