Whats the average time for a high school freshmen to run 3 miles. i do it in about 20 minutes. is that good ?

im a freshmen and this is my second year of cross country, but last year my middle school team only had one meet that was 1.67 miles long.

You are supposed to be able to run a mile at your age in at least 12 minutes.

That is great for a high school freshman - When I was in the Marines, a few years back, part of the physical test was to be able to run 3 miles.....a perfect score would be under 18 minutes.  If you are running at 20...ish that is very good.

well im one of the top in america and do it in about 16 minutes 40 seconds so ye thats quite good

That's very good especially since you're a girl and you're only a freshman.  I would think average is about 25min in my league.
