  1. The Spectacled Bear is a relatively small species of bear native to South America. It has black fur with a distinctive beige-coloured marking across its face and upper chest. Males are 33% larger than females.[3] Males can weigh 130 – 200 kilograms (286 – 440 lb), and females 35 –82 kilograms (77 – 181 lb).[4] They are found in several areas of northern and western South America, including eastern Panama,[5] western Venezuela, Brazil,[6] Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, western Bolivia, and northwestern Argentina. Spectacled bears are the only surviving species of bear native to South America, and the only surviving member of the subfamily Tremarctinae. Their survival has depended mostly on their ability to climb even the highest trees of the Andes

  2. From: http://bears.itgo.com/spectacl.html

"The spectacled bear is a large mammal whose size and weight show high variability depending on food availability, climatic conditions, etc."

"The weight of a spectacled bears may range between 80 and 125 kilograms (175 to 275 pounds) with some adult males topping the scales in excess of 175 kilograms (385 pounds). Females are generally about two-thirds the size of males."

According to the San Diego Zoo's site, males are 220 -340lbs. and females are 140-180 lbs.

Hope this helps! Good luck! :)
