when coming home from the NICU?

someone asked me a couple days ago, i think just out of curiosity or she didnt tell me why, but i honestly have no clue so thank God for yahoo answers lol

but ya, im THINKING 5lbs? i obviously know thats not what they weigh at birth, but don't they have to be close to 5lbs before being discharged? i could be totally wrong and probaly am so ill let you smart people answer

i am a triplet not a quadruplet or a quin or a sextuplet as many ppl say that ive been saying im either one of the last 3

im simply curious to know and haved been asked but what to know roughly before answering

  1. They have to be 5 pounds to get in the carseat and go home, but many doctors let them go home if they are 4 1/2 pounds and healthy.


  2. Honestly, I would agree with you. My son was a single birth, but he weighed only 4 11 at birth and he couldnt go home untill he was 5 lbs. If they dont have to weigh 5 lbs, maybe a little over, but think you are close to the average weight when they go home.
