Whats the bank with the best interest rate if i have 5000 dollars?

i went to commerce and its a quarter of a percent... all i heard was that wamu might be better.

ING Direct is offering 3% APY on their Orange savings account.  Also if you open a CD with them you will earn 3.3% APY.  Call 800-464-3473 for more info!  I have a savings account with them and they are the best!

a CD is getting at least 4% for 18 months.

I promise all your Local banks will give you Garbage rates to keep it liquid so don't waste your time. They may give you 3%+ on a CD but you cant grab the $$ quickly.  I get 3%+ (that is the current bar-July 2008) on a Money Market at Everbank. They give you Checks & an ATM card so the cash is quickly accessible. Other online banks in the past have not had those critical avenues to get your $$ ! Online Banks are Safe & Easy...
