Whats the battery time on iPod Shuffle?

After being fully charged, sure I read somewhere its 10hrs

  1. Its about 4 1/2 hours.

I just bought mine a month ago and it is 10hrs .....new.  As time goes by the battery life shortens so the previous person may have had hers for a while.  The guy at the ipod store told me the battery should last a few years but once it dies it is almost cheaper to buy a new one than replace it.
