I have one story.

Imam Jazulli, the man who wrote Da'lail Al-Khayrat (A book of blessings on the Prophet (PBUH), was inspired to write it bcuz:The legend behind the origin of the Dala’il al-Khayrat are that Imam al-Jazuli once awoke late for his morning prayers and began to look in vain for pure water to perform ritual ablutions. In the midst of his search al-Jazuli encountered a young girl who was aware of al-Jazuli's famed religiosity and was bewildered on why al-Jazuli could not find pure water. The girl then spit into a well which miraculously overflowed with pure sweet water for al-Jazuli to perform ablutions.

Consequent to performing prayer, al-Jazuli inquired to the means by which the girl achieved such a high spiritual station. The girl replied it was simply by "Making constant prayer for God to bless the best of creation by the number of breaths and heartbeats." Al-Jazuli then resolved to write a work collecting litanies of prayers asking God to bless and show mercy and kindness to the Prophet Muhammad.

  1. Qur'anic evidence for asking the blessings on Muhammad

Peace be upon him, written in ArabicPart of a series on

    Islam

In  the translation of the meanings of the Qur'an in Surah 33 entitled Al-Ahzab (The Confederates), ayah (verse) 56:

"Allah sends His Salah on the Prophet (Muhammad), and also His angels (do so). Oh you who believe! Send your Salah on (i.e. ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammad) and greet him with the Islamic way of greeting (i.e. as-Salaam Alaykum, which means peace be upon you)" (33:56)

The Islamic scholar, ibn Kathir, entitled the section in his tafsir (i.e., explanation of the Qur'an) regarding this verse, "The Command to say Salah upon the Prophet (Muhammad)."

This point is further founded in the saying by Muhammad that, "The misser is the one in whose presence I am mentioned, then he does not send the Salah upon me." This was recorded by Ahmad ibn Hanbal in his Musnad.

Hadith evidence for asking the blessing on Muhammad

The evidence for sending Salah on Muhammad is not limited to the Qur'an. It is also found in hadith about Muhammad. Examples include:

At-Tirmidhi recorded that Abu Hurayrah said:

"The Messenger of Allah said, May he be humiliated, the man in whose presence I am mentioned and he does not send Salah upon me; may he be humiliated, the man who sees the month of Ramadan come and go, and he is not forgiven; may he be humiliated, the man whose parents live to old age and they do not cause him to be granted admittance to Paradise."

At-Tirmidhi said that this hadith was, "Hasan gharib" (Good but only reported once).

Sahih Muslim, Sunan Abu Dawud, Sunan at-Tirmidhi, and Sunan an-Nasa'i, recorded that Abu Hurayrah said,

"The Messenger of Allah said: Whoever sends one salah upon me, Allah will send ten upon him."

Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal reported in his Musnad that the companion of Muhammad, Abu Talhah al-Ansari said:

"One morning the Messenger of Allah was in a cheerful mood and looked happy. They said, 'Oh Messenger of Allah, this morning you are in a cheerful mood and look happy.' He said, Of course, just now someone [an angel] came to me from my Lord [Allah] and said, 'Whoever among your Ummah sends Salah upon you, Allah will record for him ten good deeds and will erase for him ten evil deeds, and will raise his status by ten degrees, and will return his greeting with something similar to it.'"

The isnad (chain of narrators) of this hadith is good.

It was reported by Razin ibn Mu'awiyah in his book Jami al-Usool that Muhammad said:

A supplication remains suspended between heaven and earth and does not ascend any further until a person sends Salah on me. Do not treat me like a spare water container, send Salah upon me at the beginning of your supplication, at the end, and in the middle.

Commentary regarding abbreviating the Salah on Muhammad

Many of the Islamic scholars have instructed Muslims not to abbreviate sending the Salah on Muhammad. Shaykh Abd al-Azeez ibn Baaz said regarding the issue:

"As it is prescribed to send blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in prayer when saying the tashahhud, and it is prescribed when giving khutbahs, saying Du’a and praying for forgiveness, and after the Adhan, and when entering and exiting the mosque, and when mentioning him in other circumstances, so it is more important to do so when writing his name in a book, letter, article and so on. So it is prescribed to write the blessing in full so as to fulfil the command that Allah has given to Muslims, and so that the reader will remember to say the blessing when he reads it. So one should not write the blessing on the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in short form such as writing (S) or (SAWS) etc, or other forms that some writers use, because that is going against the command of Allah in His Book, where He says (interpretation of the meaning):

"Send your Salaah on (ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammad), and (you should) greet (salute) him with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation, i.e. As‑Salaamu ‘Alaykum)" [ al-Ahzab (33:56) ]

And that (writing it in abbreviated form) does not serve that purpose and is devoid of the virtue of writing 'salla Allaahu ‘alayhi wa salaam (May Allah send blessings and peace upon him)' in full. Moreover the reader may not take notice of it and may not understand what is meant by it. It should also be noted that the symbol used for it is regarded as disapproved by the scholars, who warned against it."

Terms used for those other than Muhammad

Al-Bayhaqi reports that Abu Hurayrah said that Muhammad said:

Send the Salat on Allah's messengers and prophets for Allah sent them as He sent me.

The scholar of hadith, Muhammad Nassir ad-Deen al-Albani, said this hadith is hasan (good) in his book Saheeh al-Jama'at'. (See hadith number 3782).

When mentioning sahaba (the companions of Muhammad), radhi Allahu anhu (for males) and radhi Allahu anha (for fe

  2. If any one send one blessing to the Prophet (pbuh) Allah will bless him ten times...

  3. since Allah (swt) started with himself then ordered his angels with this matter (send blessings to Muhammad pbuh), then ordered the believers to do so, and because sending blessings makes us be qualified for the intercession of Muhammad (saw)و

"Lo! Allah and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation." (33:56)

  6. It is one of the most important parts of faith to send blessing on Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Remember Prophet Muhammad (SAW) don't needs our blessings. He is the most beloved to God so who are we to send him blessings to Him. But not fore Prophet Muhammad (SAW) but for ourselves we should send him blessings.

A Hadith relates that one day, Hazrat Jibrael (AS) told Prophet Muhammad (SAW) that Prophet Muhammad (SAW)! I can easily count that how many stars are there in the sky, how many fishes are there in the oceans, seas & rivers and can count everything, but I don't have the ability to count the number of Duroods (Blessings) sent to you by your followers.

Sending Durood is not just recommended but its obligatory, it is required and is a farz. Qur'an says: "Allah and His angels shower blessings on the Prophet. O ye who believe! Ask blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation." (Surah Ahzab)

  7. I'm sorry, no offense to anyone but I don't believe in any of this.

Profit Mohamad (pbuh) was a profit like any other profits that god sent down. I don't think we must pray to any profits or treat any of them better than others as God says in the holy Quran. Also our profit is in heaven now and we must only follow the book that he was sent with not anything else that iamms or muslims have written during the years. We must only and only remember God alone and pray to God and not his profits. We can learn form his profits, not worship them. Other wise we're no better than Christains  that believe jesus is God himself.

  8. My dear friend salam for you. 10. Shaikh Abul Futuh Razi narrates from the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) that: He the Holy Prophet Muhammad (saw) said, "On the night of Isra and Miraj (Shab-E-Meraj) when I ascended to the heavens, I saw an Angel who had a thousand hands. On each of his hands there were a thousand fingers, and he was counting something on them.

I asked Jibreel (pbuh) as to who that Angel was, and what was he counting? Jibreel (pbuh) replied that the Angel had been appointed by Allah to count the drops of rain, so that it may be known as to how many drops have fallen down to the earth.

I turned towards the Angel and asked him, "Do you know the total amount of the raindrops which have fallen down on the earth from the day Allah created this world till now"?

To which he replied, "O Prophet of Allah! I swear by my Lord who has chosen you (as a blessing) for mankind, verily I know the total amount of raindrops fallen on the earth till now. Even to the extent that how many drops have fallen in the wilds, in the prosperous lands, in the gardens, and also in the cemetery."

Then I told him that I was very much surprised by the power of his mind and intellect and the ability to remember, to which he replied, "O Prophet of Allah! Verily this ability to count proves futile when I try to count only one thing." I asked him as to what calculation was that. He replied, "When people of your Ummah gather at one place and send Salawat (Salat and salam) upon you, it is beyond my ability and capacity to count the rewards for it."
