Boston whaler is not the only brand that won't sink! In fact, Triumph brand boats are not only unsinkable, but practically indestructible. They are made of a one-piece polyethlene mold called Roplene. The material floats by itself, unlike fiberglass. I have seen a Triumph run into a concrete bridge piling around 30 MPH and BOUNCE OFF!! The guy driving got hurt but the boat only had a scuff! They also never need waxing, have a lifetime warranty, and are cheaper than Whalers. We used whalers as a comparison for selling. Four Winns Horizon 190 for sure.  Its got a plastic deck with snap in rugs, rather than glued rugs like the competition, that really helps make it easier to clean up (or you can remove the rugs and just hose off the boat when you're done).  Its got a bigger engine than the competition, and the Volvo Penta Transdome Drive is way nicer than Mercruiser (I have boats with each of these drives).  It also got way more nifty features (like a driver seat that goes up and down and a second sonar next to the fishing platform). The 180 is a foot shorter but $1700 cheaper.

If, it look like a boat, then it probably a boat. There is no best. But, there is a preference. I prefer Glastron, but, most the boats I have had were Arrowglass. Having worked for 2 boat dealers many years ago I have setup many Rangers for Pro Bass Competitions. They have a good hull, easy to rig and not hard to get to wires etc. Easy to reach the front bow stuff should you need to change a Trolling Motor, light etc. Also, over the years I have not seen a lot of trouble with Transoms Rotting out, and really the other boats are the same. It really depends on the boat dealer you buy from. They not mount your engine correct then in time you will know it.

It depends on how you will be using it.  The ranger is good inshore, but if you choose to go offshore something like an Edgewater,  Grady White or Whaler will work best.  See what other folks use in your area as a good dealer in the area  may decide what is the best brand for you.  If you are on salt water be sure you get something with good stainless fasteners as a lot of inland built boats, like four winns, do not hold up well with a lot of salt water usage.
