  1. You left out the only choice you need....Glock 23!!!!

  2. I carry a Smith & Wesson M&P .40  and I love the gun.

It fits better in my hand than any other plus it comes with 2 extra grip sets, that I can change...not sure why I would...But I can if I want

  3. Th best made is either the Sig or the H&K.But pick the one you are most comfortable with. All those companies make good quailty firearms so choose the one the fits best in your hand.

  4. Rather than deal with amateur opinions, I have found that the professional evaluators, both commercial and independent, have given a slight edge to the H-K pistols, from tests run by evaluators from such sources as Guns & Ammo, American Handgunner, and Gun Tests magazines.

In such tests, the H-K USP models had fewer malfunctions and NO (0) failures when tested against, not only the Sig-Sauer, but Beretta, Springfield, and S&W models, as well.

I've run nearly 5,000 rounds through my H-K USP .45ACP, including Hydra-Shok, Cor-Bon, and several equivilent custom handloads, with 0 stoppages EVER, and it's tolerances haven't measureably changed since I first aquired it.

Know also that I carry my USP .45 in 'Condition One' (c0cked & locked) with a round chambered, just as safely as one can with the 1911.

The only negative factors I've dealt with carrying the USP, inherrent in the SOCOM, as well, is it's larger size, but I'm a larger guy and LIKE the more impressive size, and the limited availability of carry systems, but I carry concealed in my own unorthodox manner, anyway.

To check out all of their offerings, go to H-K's home site, then go talk to your local H-K dealer.

  5. All good choices. SIG is the best pistol made today, HK is darn close, SA XD is a fine pistol in it's own right, although I have a problem with the safety or lack thereof. Don;t know what Browning you are looking at, the single Action HP is a fantastic gun, but you must train for single action use and carry.

  6. Sig. 226 or 229 model.  Although they are more expensive than most other pistols, they are worth every penny in comfort, accuracy, and reliability.  Plus if you shop around local gun stores and gun shows, you can usually find a few never/hardly used trade-ins (from security guard companies) as cheap as $350 - 400.

I'm not sure which Browning you were looking at, but for the most part their guns are made by other manufacturers and simply get the Browning logo stamped on them.  If you have specific model in mind, update the questions.  HKs are great guns, but their highlight has always been the .45 caliber.  As such they are designed on a larger .45 frame, even for smaller calibers.  They are great for intimidation factor, though.  Springfield... personally, I never liked the 1911 design because of additional hassle with the rear safety.  I know people swear that once you're used to it that you don't even notice it's there.  Still, it's more moving parts, more buttons to push, etc.  I prefer simple guns.

    1st choice - Sig.  2nd choice - HK.  3d choice - CZ97B (open link).

  7. Personal taste.

I personally dis-like the S/A it probably the country stamp but the gun is good. H&K and Sig are TOP NOTCH excellent choice.

My experience with Browning pistols is only the "old model" Hi Power not the new stuff.

  8. h&k usp but pound for pound glock 22/23 got mine for $350 no jams ever.

  9. I like Glocks but Springfield Armorys are good for a cheaper gun and H&K is on the expensive side and Sigs are in the middle. They are all good reliable guns but each one has its pros and cons.Good Luck.

  10. Glock makes the best. I have a Glock 23 that I would not trade for any of the ones you mention.

I also have 2 Glocks that shoot the 10mm, a 20 and a 29. The 29 is in my pocket now. If you want real power get a 10mm instead of a .40, and get a Glock, There is no substitute...
