  1. Go for the Sony Bravia KDL40D3500. You can buy it online from loads of places like Currys, Dixons, PC World (all the same group) for £599 which is amazingly cheap for what you get.

It's full 1080p/24 HD, it has amazing blacks comparable to a plasma, the colours and clarity on HD are immense and the standard definition is also very good (argueably the most important factor as chances are most you viewing will be standard def through the TV). Being a Sony, it should last a good few years too.

I have just bought one after months of researching and comparing sets and am extremely pleased. I can't believe the quality for cost. GTA4 looks immense on this set through HD and feels like you're actually there!

The only negative I would say about it is that it only has 2 scart sockets and 2 HDMI inputs and they are all on the rear. Not a major problem for most but if you have a few sources, you might end up scrabbling around the back of the set to swap cables around.

  2. sony - the best its hugh definachilon lcd it's the best  go 2 the link and find the best sony u will like

  3. Some LCD's have blacks comparable to plasma, until there is anything on the screen...then it's not even close.

Read the last shootout - http://www.hometheatermag.com/lcds/208hd...

Plasma has better blacks, better motion resolution, better contrast, better response time, pretty much better everything. The only reason not to look at plasma is if you watch TV in a family room where daytime viewing will be the majority and you have massive windows.

For LCD's, the lowest repair rate is the Pansonic LCD's, but they only make up to a 32".

Repair rates on LCD TV's in 2007.

    2%-Panasonic

    3%-Sony, Sharp, Samsung, Toshiba, JVC

    4%-Philips

    9%-Hitachi

    11%-Dell

  4. SAMSUNG

  5. I have a Westinghouse.  Though mine is a 47",  but it is totally awesome.  I love it.  Both my husband and I agree when we have to buy a new one it will be a Westinghouse.

Good luck, I hope you find what you are looking for.  :0)
