Whats the best Guide book to Vietnam?

i never use one ,but most tourist get by real nice w/ "lonely planet" and if you can get it "dicovery channel" puts out an excelent pocket guide

when you visit to vietnam, i think that you should have a map, and find some information of popular tour on the internet. it's a best guide book for you. Vietnameses are very friendly, will help you to see and understand something you want when you visit.

Lonely Planet is still the best which is why it controls 90% of the market. Just expect that any place you go to will be filled with Lonely Planet wielding tourists. It built its reputation on being unbiased (ie: the writers do not take commission for recommendations). This is not the case in Vietnam, so recommendations are cash-based.
