Whats the best Volkswagen for a road trip?

I was thinking about taking a road trip with a volkswagen. Where can i buy one that has a nice interior with beds and kitchen area? I have seen some that come with a pop-up top and a tent, I also want one that is in good condition but it doesn't have to be perfect is there a website that might specialize in this? I have been looking online everywhere!! I would love it if there was a website that did customizations on interiors and etc. Thank you for any info!!

Your miliage is going to be more like 17 than 27. I've had about 8 of these over the years and the best by far was the 75 bubble top. While top heavy and swayed in the wind it did an honest 70 mph down the hiway, And the big valve EFI 1800 engine was a treat -everytime it started(ya they had a reputation;- for trouble) But the ride was much better than the split windows, and the propane heater worked sink and pumps were OK. But give your self about a month to work all the bugs out before you start your trip.

the best vw to get is a vw camper bus its has everything you need but no bathroom tow beds fridge gas cooker what else do you need but tow s**y girls .

Find a Westfalia Camper Bus.  They can easily sleep 4 adults and offer all the amenities (minus a bathroom) you'll ever need.  Plus there are some really cool accessories like a roll out screen room and tent, and a hammock... for ultra cool points with tha ladies ;)

They get about 24 miles per gallon on the freeway; but top speed is only about 67 mph--so I hope you're not in a hurry.

Search classifieds for "Westfalia Camper Bus" and check out the air-cooled section of vwvortex.com  They have a free classified site and I'm sure plenty of people are selling what you need.

But be forewarned, a clean Westfalia Bus is NOT going to be cheap!  You're looking at about 8,000 and up.  You might be able to get a non-rust bucket for 5K.
